Hot Homosassa Fishing!

Hot Homosassa Fishing!

Which is hotter, the weather or the fishing? The wind is finally subsiding, some days it’s been as flat calm as a mirror on the Gulf waters and we recently have seen the water temperature rise to 80 degrees. Are these the first signs of summer? Never the less the fishing continues to be HOT! The fish continue to feed aggressively and it’s not uncommon to catch Redfish, Trout, Black Drum, Sharks, Sea Bass, Pompano, Flounder, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel and Cobia on any given day!!

Plus the Tarpon Guides are starting to report jumping the Silver Kings just a little to the South of Old Homosassa. If you haven’t taken advantage of our “Introductory Special”, the first time you fish with me, it’s only $299.00 for a full day charter for one to four anglers and includes everything except your lunch and beverages. Check our website, www.HomosassaRedfish.com, for more details or to book your unforgettable day on the water. Don’t wait as prime days in May and June are filling fast. Let’s go CATCHING!!!

Scallop Season opens July 1st and runs through September 10th! Scallop season here on Florida’s Nature Coast is one of the most exciting and busiest times of the year. Book your Scallop charters soon at, www.HomosassaRedfish.com, as most of July is already booked. Good news as we have already booked so many Scallop Charters we will be running a second boat this season. Don’t wait as we expect to fill both boats! We hope for another banner season this year! It’s like an “Underwater Easter Egg Hunt”!!

As I mentioned in my last report, I have recently ordered a new boat from Young Boats in Inglis, www.Young-Boats.com. They will be custom building me a new Young 20 foot shallow water performance hull, center console with a dual station tower, expected delivery date is mid-September. Can you guess what color it’s going to be? This new dream boat will open up many other fishing opportunities that I’m just not able to do with my 24 foot Carolina Skiff. Help me name the new Young Boat, between now and the end of June, please send your suggestions to RedEd@homosassaredfish.com. Some of the interesting suggestions we have already received are: Sea-Spots, Red Dawgg, Reel Red, Tails You Win, Moondance, Sea-Duce-Ed, Red Stalker and Red-Sea. If your boat name suggestion is chosen, you will receive one FREE Scallop Charter for up to four folks!
